Plumber answering service that never misses a call
Burst pipe at 2am, water coming through a ceiling, hands full of tools - the calls you cannot reach are the calls worth the most.
Emergency plumbing is the trade where the first voice to answer usually wins the job. When you are under a sink, in a crawlspace or on another call, the customer does not wait: they dial the next plumber on the list.
What it captures on a plumbers call
- The address and the access details (gate code, lockbox, which unit)
- Whether the water is still running and whether the shut-off valve is located
- Urgency - flooding now, no hot water or a booking for later in the week
- Gas smell or no-heat flag, so it is treated as a safety call
- Access notes - gate code, dog, parking - if the caller offers them
- A callback number and the best time to knock
How a call sounds
My kitchen is flooding, I need someone tonight.
I am sorry, that is stressful. Can I take the address and a number - and is the water still running?
No, I turned it off at the shut-off valve.
Got it. Water off. You are first on the emergency list; someone will call you back within the hour.
An illustration of how a call unfolds, not a recording. Every prompt is tuned to your business before it goes live.
What a missed call costs a plumber
- a call nobody picks up leaves no record of itself: no message, no number, no way to count it
- so the jobs you never hear about cannot be counted either - which is the whole problem
- put your own numbers on it: your average job value, times the calls you miss in a week
No industry statistic and no customer story is quoted above, because we cannot verify one for your trade and this business has no customers yet. The only figures we can stand behind are our own, and they are the whole offer: $99 one-time setup, then 30¢ a minute charged by the second, out of a balance you top up from $25. No packages, no monthly fee.
The calls that decide your week
The 2am burst pipe
Water is coming through a ceiling and the caller is panicking. He is not leaving a voicemail, he is dialling the next plumber on his list. Whoever answers gets the emergency call-out, the insurance paperwork and the customer for the next fifteen years.
The 4pm Wednesday trickle
A slow leak under a vanity, no rush, happy to book for Friday. This one almost never rings back - he was calling from the DIY aisle and by the time he is home he has decided to live with it. Answered on the spot, it is a booked job with an address.
The landlord with nine properties
Property managers do not shop around the way homeowners do. The plumber who answers consistently becomes the default on their list - and one answered after-hours call is what puts you there.
What lands in your inbox - and what never happens
Every call ends the same way: one job card, written out, with enough detail to price the job. And the limits are worth knowing before you buy, not after.
On the card
- The address, the unit number and the access detail if the caller gives one
- Whether the water is still running and whether the shut-off is found
- Whether it is flooding now, no hot water, or a job for later in the week
- Gas smell or no-heat, marked as a safety call rather than a booking
- A callback number that was read back to the caller to confirm it
What it will never do
- Quote a price or a call-out fee
- Promise an arrival time it cannot keep
- Say a part is in stock
- Claim to be you or anyone on your team
Live in a day, on the number your customers already dial
You keep the number your customers already dial. Either calls forward to the receptionist or we port the number across, and nothing changes on their side. The receptionist is then tuned around your business - the towns you cover, your hours, which jobs are emergencies and which are not, what your on-call rule is. When it gets something wrong, that is an edit to a rule, not a re-recording, so it is fixed the same day. There is no monthly bill and no contract: the one-time setup is what the build costs, and after that you only buy minutes, which never expire.
Questions we get asked
Can the AI tell an emergency from a quote request?
Yes. Emergencies are routed to your on-call number immediately and flagged in the job email; routine quotes are booked into the schedule so they do not wake anyone up.
Does it know our service area?
It is built around your business - the towns you cover, your hours and your on-call rules. Out-of-area callers are told honestly and logged.
What happens if the AI cannot reach anyone?
There is an escalation rule per caller type. If nobody answers, the call details land in your inbox and the caller is told exactly when to expect a callback.
Does it work when I am under a sink?
That is exactly when it matters. The receptionist answers while you work, takes the job and emails the card. For a genuine emergency it rings your on-call number and reads the job out loud rather than waiting for anything to be read.
Will it book me into a crawlspace at 3am for a dripping tap?
No. You set which calls are emergencies. A drip is booked into the schedule; a burst pipe, a gas smell or no heat is what wakes somebody up.
What if the caller does not speak much English?
It handles English and Spanish on the same number, and it will not guess at an address it did not hear clearly - it asks again rather than sending you somewhere wrong.
